Gender Reveal

We went to the doctor to find out what our 2nd child would be. Brooklyn wanted a brother and mommy and daddy weren't partial towards a boy or girl.

It took a while for the nurse to final get a good picture, but we found out we were having a GIRL!!!
Brooklyn pouted and said that it was a brother. She crossed her arms and told us to take her back and exchange her cause she wanted a brother. Oh, the sisterly love is beginning!!!!

We decided to share the news with our family all at once during a gender reveal party at our house. We kept trying to bribe Brooklyn not to tell anyone, but she couldn't hold it and she told Jarod.

Right before we were about to make the announcement, Brooklyn came out of her room dressed as Merida! Of course, she would have to make a costume change!!!

Thank you, to our family and friends for sharing this joyous moment with us! We are so excited to introduce Addison Grace sometime in late June or early July.

Trip to the Park

Today took a family trip to our neighborhood park!

Brooklyn wanted to walk Bo, but he kept pulling her so hard that she had to run to keep up. The faster she ran, she faster he walked... Makes for a bad combination!!! Eventually, somebody's going to get hurt!

When we got to the park, Brooklyn kept trying to walk up the slide. She would make it about 3/4 of the way and then give-up and slide back down.

When got back home to tried to blow bubbles, but the wind was blowing so hard that we all had a hard time making bubbles before they would be blown out of the bubble wand!

Valentine's Date

We celebrated Valentine's Day together as a family. Richard and Brooklyn bought me beautiful red roses and we got Brooklyn a "Snoopy Kissing-Bandit" card and some of her favorite cups, and Daddy... he got jipped - no gift.

Our entire dinner was found from recipes on Pinterest. We had...
Appetizer - baked avocados with salsa
Dinner - Shrimp Pasta with fresh basil and tomatoes
Dessert - Strawberry cupcakes with a chocolate covered strawberry
Drink - Fresh Strawberry Lemonade

YUMMY!!!

Brooklyn helped make the desserts...But she ate more than she actually helped. Every time I turned around she was licking the spoon to get chocolate!

Happy Valentine's to the THREE most precious people in my life!
Happy Valentine's, Addison. We can't wait for you share Valentine's Day with us next year!

Big Girl Room

Yesterday, while Brooklyn spent the night at Nana and Papaw's house, Richard and I had a date night and fixed Brooklyn's room.  Since, Brooklyn is going to be a big sister, we wanted to update her room to a Big Girl's room. Our date started by eating lunch, watching The Hobbit in I-Max 3D, and then going to IKEA and buying Brooklyn new bedroom furniture. We then stopped for dinner at 9:00 pm at Taco Bell and stayed up until 2:00 in the morning putting all the pieces together.

Station 38

Today we went and visited daddy at his station. Brooklyn got to sit in the drivers seat. Daddy honked the horn, made the sirens blare, and the lights flash.

Brooklyn wanted to put on daddy's gear, but the helmet was too heavy. She couldn't hold her head up with it on. Both Brooklyn and I are so proud of our family hero!

Christmas

After over a year in the garage, I finally got the chance to put out my yard art!

Picture with Santa

To get ready for Santa Claus, Brooklyn and I made Star Cookies to show Santa the way to the Jesus' manger.

The next morning was Christmas Eve, and we went to Linda's house for Brunch.

Brooklyn was so excited about the Tinkerbell Costume that she had to put in on!!!
She decided to spread her Fairy love around the room and give everyone hugs and kisses.

Later that evening, we went to Richard's Parent's house for Christmas Eve Dinner.

After we got home, Brooklyn put out the cookies for Santa. On the way to the table, she spilt the cookies on the floor. Then she proceeded to sneeze on the cookies that didn't have dog hair on them. Unfortunately, that is all that we had to give Santa, so he got STAR - dog hair-sneezed on cookies! YUMMY!!!

The next morning was CHRISTMAS DAY!! Some how we managed not to get a single photo of OUR Christmas Morning. I guess we took nothing but VIDEO. How smart on our behalf!

After we opened presents, we went to Richard's Parent's house for Christmas Morning Breakfast.

 Brooklyn was a big helper!
We made Blueberry Reindeer Pancakes as seen on Pinterest! So much fun and super delicious!
We then opened MORE presents! Brooklyn received Angus (horse from Brave) and an ART easel to make learning at Nana's school even more fun!

Later we went to Jachel's house and had Christmas with the Hunts!
Brooklyn received a Merida Blanket and Barbie- Jackson received a TONKA Fire Truck and Baby Shay received a musical purse toy set.

To round out the festivities, we went to my parent's house on Christmas Evening!

Brooklyn received stickers from GIGI and became a sticker monster - trying to cover everyone in the house with stickers. Unfortunately, Daddy received the most LOVE and sticker attention. Ouch, that's gonna hurt when he has to take them off!!

To all my family,
Thank you for a very memorable CHRISTMAS! We love you all so much and greatly enjoy spending OUR HOLIDAY with you all!
Here is to a GREAT past year, and a BLESSED NEW YEAR!
