Visiting the Rainforest

Today, we visited the Rainforest at Moody Gardens. We forgot our camera at home and had to use Richard's phone. I was surprised how well the pictures turned out!

The first part of the exhibit was the view from the Tree Top Canopy. We saw the entire Rainforest from the viewpoint of a bird or monkey.

The next part was the Butterfly enclosure.

As soon as we walked in a butterfly landed on Richard and refused to fly away!
We didn't want to kill it, by touching it, but when we finally shook his shorts hard enough the butterfly decide to hangout on his leg. Brooklyn kept cracking up laughing at the silly butterfly!

Not only were there many different types of animals, but also many beautiful types of flowers. Orchids of every shade and variety where found all over the entire exhibit!

At one point, Brooklyn kept complaining how hot she was! "It's too hot!" It was 94.5 in the rainforest! Where has she been ALL summer, especially if she thinks that 95 is too hot!

See ya later, Tree Frog!

Potty Training

We are currently working on Potty Training!!! Oh, the fun!!
Brooklyn is 2 years and almost 4 months.

We bought her an Elmo and Friends potty cover. She is really good about going to the potty when make her sit there, but not so good about telling us she needs to go!

Milk from a cup! EEWWW, Gross!

We are working on drinking milk from a cup and not a bottle! She absolutely refuses to drink it out of a cup! She will take a sip from a cup and reply, "Eewww, Gross!". Then she will watch me pour it into a bottle and she will reply, "Umm,Umm, Good!" What a silly little girl!

 Refusing to drink!!

Still refusing to drink!!

 Playing with the straw!

Taking a sip! "Eewww, Gross!!!"

Yesterday, for the first time she drank two glasses of milk without throwing a fit! Maybe bottles will no longer be in our future!!! Oh, I can't wait! I hate cleaning bottles!

Techies!!

We went over to Ja-chels's for dinner and let the kids swim. After the kiddos came in from swimming they found the I-Pad, and entertained us all by dancing to Justin Beiber's "Baby, Baby, Baby..." It is amazing how fast they learn how to manipulate technology. Jackson was able to find a Spongebob video and music for him and girlfriend to listen to...

What will be next? Will they be building a computer by age 4?

1st Haircut! (Officially)

Today, Brooklyn received her first official haircut! I say first official, because I sneaked a few trims in here or there on my own! Most of the time Richard didn't notice until almost two weeks later. Well, yesterday, I trimed her bangs so they weren't in her eyes. Well, Richard said her hair looked horrible, so we went to get it fixed.

We went to Cool Cuts for Kids and Brooklyn watched Toy Story 2. The DVD kept skipping and every time it skipped she starting crying!

The hair stylist also gave her an orange dum-dum. She has never had a lollipop before and enjoyed every moment of it! She was covered in sticky goo!

Here is the final result! In my defense, the hair stylist said I did a pretty good job! Her bangs were straight!!! So Ha! However, I don't see any futher hairstyling in my future!

Happy Anniversary!!

Richard and I were married on August 6, 2005, my grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary!! Tonight we celebrated our 6th wedding Anniversary!
We donned our nicest clothes and ate dinner at Pappa's Bro.s  Steak House. Richard had the Kobe Beef Steak and I had a Fillet Mignon. We shared crab cakes, Cesar salad, crab macaroni and cheese, and Triple Chocolate Cake for dessert!

After dinner, we went to see Emma by the AD Players. We only made it to intermission, before we had to leave. The theatre was so hot, the seats were cramped, and the main actress was a little too much to handle in such a small theatre! Well live and learn!

To my Husband: Thank you for the last 6 years! We have had so much fun together and I am greatly for your love and support! Here is to many, many more! I love you!

Every Saturday we eat dinner at Gigi and Pop's. Here are a few pictures of our evening!

Feeding Fish...

Or at least trying to feed the fish!

Then, A little gardening. We need to tell Gigi, that gardening will be easier if she uses Big people tools and not Dora the Explorer tools!

Brooklyn, you may need to trade tools with Gigi! Oh, and PLEASE be careful of your toes!

Baby Bump ALERT!!!! Getting closer!

A fun evening in the yard!

True Water Baby

We had Richard's parents over for dinner and while dinner was sweating it out in the oven, we were sweating out in the back yard watching Brooklyn play in the water!

We had a nice evening watching Broklyn play and good fellowship with our parents.

4th of July

On July 4th, we had burgers and sweet potato fries at Mark and Linda's house.
Brooklyn then had he first taste of delicious hot smores!

She had to have a bite of every one's!!
What a smore freak! She was covered in melted chocolate and sticky marshmallows.

After dinner and desert, we went to watch the fireworks. We weren't brave enough to deal with the traffic in Pearland, so we watched the fireworks from a field about a mile away!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!!!
